Summer is in full swing, temperatures are hitting all-time highs almost everywhere in the world! Yes, it is really HOT 🥵 and often humid too.
The hotter it is, the more dehydrated you may become. It’s extremely important to stay hydrated whether you are playing sports, traveling or relaxing on the beach.
Make sure you play your hydration game well 😎
I’m a huge fan of plain water. But there are days when I crave something more than just that and add lemon juice onto my water.
If you are not a big fan of plain water, there are so many ways to make water more attractive to your taste buds — you can make fruit infused water or add mint leaves or slices of cucumber.
Get creative 😎
What you should watch out for though is not to fill the void for fluids with caffeine, alcohol, and high-sugar content as they might contribute to dehydration.
There are plenty of fruits and vegetables rich in water. Focusing on adding them into your diet more than usually can help you stay on top of your hydration game.
Think of foods like peaches, grapes, oranges, melons, strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, zucchini, spinach, and lettuce.
You can add them on your salads to get a more exotic flavor or simply prepare salads using high-water-rich veggies and fruits only.
There are signs body sends us to inform/alarm us on our body’s condition and prompt us to take action.
Signs like
are symptoms of dehydration and ought to be taken seriously.
The simple solution is to drink plenty of water and if you are exposed to direct sunlight, remove yourselfo and look for cool place in shadow.
Airports and flights can be very dehydrating.
It’s not easy to drink as much as you usually do when you’re going for summer vacation. Also airplanes known for low-humidity air can contribute to low hydration.
What’s the solution?
Pack an empty reusable water bottle with you in your carry-on bag and then fill it up with water after going through security.
During flight, ask for water when the beverage cart passes by.
Proper hydration is more than just drinking water—it’s important to regulate the body temperature, too.
Wear light, loose-fitting clothing in light colors.
Remember to wear shades and hats when being on the sun.
Enjoy your Summer ❤️😎
